You might think “Wow, what a masterpiece for a toddler of 14 months”, but I have to disappoint you. Although, I had initially planned to let Amy lose with the colouring pens sent to us for Britmum’s #ColourMeInRK Challenge with Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, but after a brave trail run, I decided that it’s better for my sanity, Amy’s highchair and the overall picture, if I pass on the task to someone more suitable: my niece Ellie.
Ellie is 8 years old and a great little artist. We have spent many afternoons colouring in or writing numbers and letters over the past couple of years, so when my sister-in-law had to go for the last consultant appointment before her little girl’s arrival, I jumped at the chance to babysit for her. Technically, looking after Ellie is not really babysitting as she is no baby anymore and she is quite happy to entertain herself, if you provide different activities for her to choose from. Colouring in is always a winner, so I presented her with the Rice Krispie’s box and WHS’s pen case and Ellie was in creative heaven.
She followed the pictures printed on the sides of the box – she always tries to be as close as possible to the original picture – and applied glitter to the writing to “make it look a bit prettier”, she says. I think she’s done a pretty good job. What do you say?
That's very pretty, well done!
Aww thank you. I'm sure to let Ellie know. It took her a good two hours. This girl has stamina ๐
How lovely! Well done to Ellie! ๐
