Wall murals and wall art are a great way to make a room more interesting and homely. They are also perfect, if you want to give your room a bit of character or even a theme. Most of all though, wall murals are really easy to use. I remember asking my parents to paint the characters of my favourite book onto my bedroom wall and of course my wish was their command, but boy did it take them ages.
First of all, they had to paint the wall white (twice, because I had a rather vibrant pink on my wall before and it needed double coverage), then they used an overhead projector to project the characters onto the wall before carefully drawing their outline with a pencil. Following this rather time-consuming procedure, my mum and dad painted black contours, which then needed drying before carefully they could colour in all the characters. It turned out amazing and I absolutely loved my special wall, so much so that I decided to give it a beautiful finish with my red crayon. I can tell you one thing – Amy’s grandparents were not impressed and I never ever got a personalised wall again.
Now, if you want a feature wall in your child’s bedroom, but don’t fancy all the hassle that comes with painting a wall, then this wall mural competition is perfect for you. I have teamed up with the lovely people from Cover Your Wall and they are offering one lucky reader the chance to win one of their fantastic children’s wall murals – you can see my favourite above!
