Men and women have very different ideas about what constitutes romance, and this is never more apparent than at a time when you’re buying presents for each other; sure a woman would love for her partner to bust out some flowers and shout “surprise!” one evening, but at a time like Christmas she expects it, so if you’re a man, you had better deliver.
It’s not difficult to be romantic though. Below are a few ideas for you about things we’d like to receive; if you can come up with some yourself that would be even better!
A weekend away
We don’t necessarily want to open a “thing” on Christmas; the old saying goes “it’s the thought that counts,” and that’s definitely true. When the post-Christmas blues set in during January, if we’ve got something to look forward to; like a weekend away, or tickets to an event (that we want to go to – not a sweaty gig); then we don’t mind that we don’t have a big box in front of us on Christmas morning. Try making it a surprise though.
We don’t always want something brand new either – antique stores are full of nice things; just because you can’t put a price on some of it, that doesn’t mean it won’t mean a lot to us. Buying us something one of a kind will only make us feel even more special.
Not every pair of tiny panties is romantic, but as long as you’re getting something tasteful we’re going to be pretty pleased with our present. The selection of lingerie at Figleaves is full of nice sets (and a set is always better), so take your pick. If you know what we like, then so much the better – just try not to make it more of a present for you than for us.
