Review and Giveaway: Room on the broom DVD

room on the broom dvd room on the broom the movie

Do you know how sometimes a film really doesn’t do a book justice? I was worried about this happening when it was announced that Julia Donaldon’s book “Room on the Broom” would be brought out as a movie, but I shouldn’t have, because the film is absolutely fabulous and just as great as the book, which is a firm favourite in our house.

“Room on the Broom” tells the captivating story of a kind witch who invites a surprising collection of animals to join her on her broom, much to the frustration of her Cat who feels that things are getting a bit overcrowded. However, Cat soon learns to appreciate the value of friendship of family when new arrivals Dog, Bird and Frog help Cat save the Witch from a fearsome Dragon. In gratitude, the Witch later rewards them all with a magnificent new broom with room for everyone!

“Room on the Broom – The DVD” is out today, 18 March 2013 and would make the perfect Easter present for fans of Julia Donaldson’s classic children’s book. It’s an entertaining family movie that will enchant young and old with its beautiful animation and narrators as famous as Simon Pegg, Gillian Anderson, Rob Brydon, Martin Clunes and David Walliams.

The story line and narration are true to the book, so little viewers will be able to follow the story and easily bond with its characters. Amy had lots of fun watching the DVD over and over again and as it’s the perfect length for young viewers, she was able to watch the whole film without getting distracted or losing interest in it. I am sure, “Room on the Broom” will become one of the movies that we will watch on every single duvet day, but do you know what, I’ll be looking forward to it. It’s a lovely story, it’s beautifully animated and the characters and their voices are really likeable. What more could I ask for?

Room On The Broom is available as DVD and digital download from today, Monday 18th March 2013, from Entertainment One and is priced at £9.99.
