Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and Cheesy Crumb Topping Schwartz 2in1

We’ve had a change of roles in our house recently. For the last 4 years, Ben has been cooking every single night with maybe 5 exceptions, because a) he really enjoys cooking and b) I’m a bit of a horrible chef, so we thought. Well, for the last couple of weeks, I’ve been cooking our dinners and I am proud to report that a) Ben and Amy enjoy what I am cooking and b) I am really having fun in the kitchen. Who would have thought?

Tonight, I tried something completely new: Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and Cheesy Crumb Topping from the Schwartz 2in1 seasoning range. I was a bit skeptic as I like my pasta bake a certain way, but I thought it was worth a try, especially as the package promised to get a meal on the table in just 20 minutes including prep-time. Not bad really, is it?

I sent Ben to Morrison’s to grab some chicken breast, grated cheese and a yellow pepper and worked with the pasta that I still had in the cupboard and some chopped tomatoes. All you had to do for the recipe was dicing the chicken and frying it for 6-7 minutes before adding the yellow pepper, the herb mix and your tin of tomatoes. Then you add your boiled pasta, mix things about a bit, add the crumble topping and some grated cheese and pop it under the grill for 4 minutes – it really couldn’t be easier!

In terms of taste, I was pleasantly surprised by the Schwartz 2in1 range. Amy really enjoyed her meal and I can imagine picking the Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and Cheesy Crumb Topping mix up again. It was a quick and tasty meal and although I would have liked the crumb topping to be a little crunchier, it was a  nice little dinner for a busy day.

  2. Looks tasty. Grilling is a good idea, nobody likes the hard baked bits of pasta that stick out on an oven-baked pasta dish :)
