Shopping for plus size clothing is not always fun, so when going out shopping, I often end up coming back with bags and bags full of outfits for Amy and nothing for myself. It’s so easy to get sucked into buying cute little toddler outfits, don’t you think?
They’re pink, they’re pretty and I automatically start imagining how utterly adorable Amy would look in them and then they, oops, end up in my basket. I have obviously finished my summer shopping for this year, but that hasn’t stopped me from having a cheeky look at the girls clothing from K&Co. Virtual shopping is allowed all year round, at least in my books it is. There is always something that needs to be exchanged because it’s worn or too small, because the knees are grazed or because your child had a growth spurt and the jeans that used to be so long a while ago look like they’re 3/4 lengths now.
There are also some basic items of clothing that I always top up on. Believe me: You can’t ever have too many pairs of pyjamas or knickers, especially when you are potty training and your toddler gets so engrossed in their play that they forget all about the small and big businesses in life – but that’s a whole different matter that we shall talk about in a different blog post.
Leggings are another lifesaver for us. They are perfect to pop under a cute little dress when it gets a bit colder during the day and are a great item of clothing when you are in between seasons. Amy lives in them in late summer and early autumn and loves to wear them when she’s just running around the house or garden. They’re comfy, easy to wash and probably the most used piece of clothing in her wardrobe – right after underwear, of course.
What about you? What are your clothing must-haves for active toddlers and what do you think is a waste of money? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
