Pampering for him and her with Joules

If you’ve read my Listography about Simple Pleasures, you will already know that I’m rather fond of a relaxing bath and some well needed pampering, so when the lovely people from Joules asked, if they could send us some goodies, I couldn’t have it the reply button any quicker.

If you haven’t discovered Joules yet, here’s a little bit of background info about them before I tell you more about our bath sets.

history behind Joules clothing

Joules is a British lifestyle brand that started trading about thirty years ago when Tom Joule began to sell country clothing at equestrian and outdoor events in and around Market Harborough. Other than many retailers of country clothing, Tom Joule quickly realised that his clothing didn’t really reflect his customers’ personalities.

So he designed 100 pairs of pink wellies took them to one of his regular events and sold out instantly. Joules Clothing was born and hasn’t looked back since. The company’s reinvention of classic British has made the  Joules a big hit with the great British public – no matter if clothes, homeware or accessories.

Joules country clothing is unique, colourful and utterly gorgeous while being timeless and full of detail.  Amy has a couple of Joules pieces in her wardrobe and they are just adorable. Plus, they’re of amazing quality. They’re a little more expensive than high street clothing, but you really get the quality that you pay for. Keep your eyes out tomorrow for a Wednesday Wishlist with our favourite clothing items for kids – I’m saying our favourites, because Amy is quite hands on when it comes to choosing her clothes, so I thought, I might as well get her involved in this weekly feature.

But enough about Joules clothing for now as their bath and body range is equally worth talking about.

Joules terrific treats bath trio

The Terrific Treats Bath Wash Trio, which is what I received, is a set of three bath products: the Sensational Skin Body Wash Soufflé, the Superbly Smooth Body Butter and the Lovely Scrubbly Body Scrub. All products come in colourful tubs with a metal screw on lid, contain 300ml of product and easily stack up in the bath room or the floral storage box that they come in.

They all have the same refreshing fruity scent, which is something that I really like in bath and body products as it doesn’t make you smell like you’ve fallen into a pot-pourri mix and something that really stood out to me is that a little products really goes a long way. I have used the trio for a couple of weeks now and I’ve not even used a quarter of each tub – quite impressive really! My favourite of the trio has to be the body soufflé. It is ultimately a body wash, but it has the consistency of a rich body butter, which makes it feel really luxurious and indulgent when lathering up.

I tend to use it after the scrub which makes my skin really nice and soft without being irritating and the body butter just rounds the little trio up just perfectly. It’s nourishing, moisturising and leaves me smelling lovely and fresh for hours – well, at least I hope so!

Ben received the Hare & Body set which consists of an All Day Body Wash, a bar of soap and a pair of Joules socks. I love the look of the set. It looks very classic and manly (dark blue and burgundy red) while still being fun and of modern (the hare print and the little word play).

Ben is usually quite picky when it comes to products that he lets on his skin, but he’s been really enjoying the body wash so far. It doesn’t irritate his skin and I can confirm that it smells rather lovely. Oh and the socks, they’re now mine – he doesn’t know that yet though ;)

All in all a big thumbs up for us, I just need to add some of their lovely wellies to our collection and I’m happy!

Do you own any clothing or accessories from Joules and have you discovered their bath and body range yet?

Disclosure: We received the bath sets mentioned above free of charge for the purpose of this review.
