It’s racing season and there’s one event on the racing calendar that the entire nation will be looking at: Royal Ascot. The most prestigious racing event of the year takes place from Tuesday, 17th June 2014, to Saturday, 21st June 2014 and dates back to 1711 when it was founded by Queen Anne.
Nowadays, it’s Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and her family who make Royal Ascot one Europe’s most popular racing events. Every morning the Royal Family arrive in a horse-drawn carriage with the Royal procession taking place and the world’s media is right there with them. What does the Queen wear? Who made The Duchess of Cambridge’s dress and whose outfit was the biggest fashion faux-pas? The attendees’ fashion sense is very often more discussed than the results of the races and that’s why I thought it would be a good idea to give the ladies among you an idea of what you could wear. The dress code for Royal Ascot differs quite a bit from regular racing events at Ascot, when we went to Ascot’s Family last year, it was very much a smart but casual feel, for Royal Ascot however you are expected to dress to impress. You can read all about dress code in the different stands here.
Now however my idea for an elegant outfit for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot:

What a stunning outfit, such a classic look
That would be a perfect outfit for the Duchess of Cambridge and I wouldn’t mind it either! It’s years since I’ve been to Ascot – I was in my 20s at the time – but I’ve been to several other racecourses since then and it’s always been a great day out, even if you don’t get the chance to dress up.
Oooo pretty in pink – that looks it would be worn by a proper laydee – fab choices x
fab outfit, certainly will impress with that choice!
I flipping love Royal Ascot. I shall glued to my seat from Tuesday watching it. For the fashion as much as the horses. But mostly for Clare Balding 🙂
I love Clare Balding. She’s amazing and so so talented.
Great outfit! the colour doesn’t suit me but i see for someone with light skin could work!
And very beautiful you would look in it too! I expect you to be wearing it for Britmums please!
Beautiful outfit! are you wearing it to BML?
Yes and I’ll come in a carriage and have my very own entourage who will pour wine straight down my neck, so I won’t have to waste any energy that I might need to be simply glorious 😉
Great choices. I bet coral suits most people too. I would be a bit nervous dressing for Ascot but you’ve made it look easy.
Beautiful feminine outfit- looks great!
Great outfit. I love that the fascinator doesn’t go over the top. Some of them are just too outrageous for me.
