It’s no secret that I love pizza, so when Dominos got in touch to ask, if we’d like to host our own little World Cup Pizza Party, there was no chance I’d let that offer go. So on Friday, we got our party pack out, decorated the garden with our World Cup bunting and got comfortable on our picnic blanket – the weather was too nice to sit indoors.
We were given a budget of £60 and ordered food for what feels like 5 weeks. We still have some pizza and sides left, but let me tell you what we picked. For £54.69, we received:
1x Footy Fan Feast consisting of:
1 x Large (10 slices) Rio
+ Classic Crust
1 x Large (10 slices) Fiesta
+ Classic Crust
2 x Fajita Wedges
1x 7 Spicy BBQ Wings
1x Twisted Dough Balls™ – Cheese
1x 7 Chicken Kickers™
1x Chocolate Twisted Dough Balls™
1x Ben & Jerry’s – Chocolate Fudge Brownie (500mL tub)
1x Coca Cola (1.25L Bottle)
1x Dips : Honey & Mustard
1x Dips : Garlic & Herb
The order process was really simple and before checking out, the website showed me any discounts that we were eligible for, which I think is a great feature if you want to treat yourself to a takeaway, but still want to watch your pennies. Another great function is the Pizza Tracker that allows you to follow your order from start to finish.
Our order was delivered within just 30 minutes, which I was really impressed with seeing it was a Friday night and everyone orders a takeaway then. The food was piping hot and well packaged and the only thing that I was disappointed with was that our nachos were burnt. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect the same bubbly cheese that I would expect in a restaurant. The food traveled to me after all, but the nachos were dark brown to black and rock hard.
My personal favourites were the twisted cheesy dough balls and the Fiesta pizza, which was topped with chicken breast strips, red onions, green & red peppers and seasoned with a fajita spice and a Mojito style dressing which had a beautifully zingy and sweet flavour.
Ben is the man for all things meaty. He’s obsessed with chicken wings and when he tried the beefy topping of the Rio pizza that is one of Dominos summer specials, he was in seventh heaven. All in all, we were very pleased with our order. Amy grazed and had a bit of everything while running around the garden and kicking the football. Unfortunately, England didn’t survive the group stages, but for now she’s still got Germany to support.
If you want to celebrate the World Cup with a pizza party, pop over to Dominos and check out there menu. There’s a Footy Fan Feast on offer, which gets you two large pizzas of your choice as well as two portions of wedges for £24.99 – not bad, is it?
What’s your favourite pizza topping and who are you backing in the World Cup now England are out?
Disclosure: We received a party pack with bunting, napkins, paper plates and cups as well as a £60 voucher for our order.
