Hi everyone
Today, I want to share with you a quick and simple treat for all fans of St Patrick’s Day, those who like green and those who like milkshakes – that covers practically everyone, right?
Right! So now that we’ve established that everyone here is need for a little treat, here it is. My fantabulous (real word!), green and tasty Shamrock Shake.
Ingredients for 1 Shamrock Shake:
1 scoop mint chocolate ice-cream
2 scoops vanilla ice-cream
150ml milk
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
squirty cream
some green and yellow food colouring
some green or rainbow colour sprinkles
Method:
1. Pop the ice-cream, milk and peppermint extract into a blender and blend until your shake has a nice and thick consistency.
2. Colour your shake with some green food colouring. I added some yellow to make the colour pop a little more, but this is an optional step.
3. Pour into a high glass, we used a sundae glass, top with squirty cream and decorate with sprinkles.
4. Serve with a decorative straw. I only had a pink and white straw, so I covered the pink bits with green washi tape – you wouldn’t have guessed, would you?
Enjoy and remember me when you find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, will you?ย
I’m linking this up to Recipe of the Week and Tasty Tuesdays.
nice pic…and great colour…but I’ll pass thanks…not overly keen on mint choc chip ice cream, not sure why as I love mint matchmakers!
You could always replace the mint chocolate with something else. Maybe …. ehm no idea, but you’re a foodie, you’ll find something ๐
This sounds delicious it’s just the green that puts me off… it looks like some spinach health drink (minus the cream)
Don’t let the green put you off, it’s actually really nice. Amy drank the whole thing…
The washi tape transformation of your straws is inspired! Being Irish, this is one idea I’ll have to try ๐
Pink really wouldn’t have worked, so I had to come up with something ๐
Great idea ๐

St Patrick’s Day is only in 13 days, so you’re still in time ๐
I loving the mint chocolate ice cream in this gorgeous looking milk shake. Yum.
