After hearing the internet rave about Ella Woodward’s new book “Deliciously Ella“, I wanted to know what the hype was all about, so I picked it up along with some other blogger books when I got gifted an Amazon voucher the a couple of weeks ago. Deliciously Ella was published earlier this year and has been a huge success, reaching number 1 in various bestseller lists. You usually find it in the cookbook section of book stores, but to me it’s a more of a lifestyle and cookery book as it gives you so much more than just recipes.
Deliciously Ella is a great book, if you are looking to eat more healthy or introduce plant-based, dairy-free or gluten-free food into your every day diet. If you’re looking for juicy steaks and boozy cocktails, Deliciously Ella is probably not for you, but if you are after a non-preachy book that introduces you to the benefits of grains, seeds, legumes and more in a supportive and friendly way, Ella Woodward’s bestseller could become your new food bible.
Across 256 pages, the UK food-blogger shares her extensive knowledge about different ingredients and their health benefits and shows you how to create both nourishing and delicious recipes in just a couple of minutes. Deliciously Ella by Ella Woodward is a book full of beautifully photographed recipes that will not only inspire you to try something new, but also make you more conscious of what you eat on an every day basis.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love meat dishes and I will never ditch pasta or bread (at least I don’t intend to right now), but since reading Deliciously Ella over the last couple of weeks, I am more aware of the ingredients that we use and when thinking about the meals we’ll eat during the week, I am always looking for healthier alternatives or substitutes. Yes, I am not eating a completely plant-based, dairy-free or gluten-free diet, but I have made changes and any change, no matter how small will have awesome benefit – says Ella – and she must know!
Have you read the book? What’s your favourite recipe?

When you start thinking about what we eat and start paying attention, it can be a real wake-up call!
Absolutely, once I started reading about refined sugars and processed foods, I wished I hadn’t started…
It looks like a lovely book, with some gorgeous photos! We don’t eat a lot of meat so I’m always looking out for recipe books with healthy alternatives, so thanks for the recommendation 🙂
I find that we sometimes eat a little two much meat and I wanted to introduce some plant-based meals to balance things out a bit. The book has given me some great ideas.
I am really curious about this book as a friend of mine has the same condition Ella has. We do really need to think of our bodies as machines and that we need to feed them the nutrients they need to function properly. This book is on my list of “next purchases”.
It’s amazing, isn’t it? I think it’s so inspiring to hear how “simply” changing your diet can do so much good for your health and body.
I’ve never heard of this book before but it looks great – one to add to my wish list in Amazon I think x
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did and continue to do x
I am always late to the party, but I have just discovered her website and love some if her ideas so I would love this book. Great review thank you
I have not heard of this book before tbh, but I think I really ought to go and buy it.
Oh! I love the excitement of a new recipe book – the crisp, non splattered pages….
Oh a blogger with a foodie book! I need to get my hands on it!
I’m learnign to cook at the moment after years of just heating up! This sounds fab
I heart her! I haven’t read the book – or even seen it – but I love her from her inspirational Instagram feed. I’ll be sure to check the book out! x
Oooh, this looks great. I have recently stopped eating pasta and rice, and feel much better for it. I just need to reduce my bread intake now! It’s so hard.
I am not looking to avoid meat but I am trying to eat ‘cleaner’. This sounds like a great book for more ideas of what to make.
