This week was a bit meh. There were no fun trips to the beach, no paddling pool fun and nothing else particularly exciting, but I thought I’d still do a quick write up of each day, so I can look back and see what we got up to during this particular week – if I ever wanted to do so that is. The pics are just random cute pics of Amy that I took this week, but as it was so uneventful, I didn’t really get my camera out.
On Monday, I didn’t do much apart from kindergarten runs and a quick trip to the supermarket to grab some ice-cream for the kids in Amy’s kindergarten group. It was still super hot outside and I thought a popsicle might be just what they need to cool down after a morning of outdoor play and a sports session. Monday is sports day at Amy’s kindergarten and she absolutely loves it. It’s by far her favourite day of the week! Must be her dad’s genes talking there…
My sister came over after breakfast and spent Tuesday with us. We surprised Amy and picked her up from Kindergarten together before embarking on an afternoon of glow in the dark playdough fun. We made unicorns, ponies and a whole lot of mess around my kitchen table, before cooking dinner and crashing in front of the TV for the night.
Wednesday saw me staying in and tackling a huge pile of paperwork. I absolutely hate the whole admin side of being self-employed and luckily my mum knows everything there is to know when it comes to numbers and files. Clearly not a talent I’ve been blessed with, but hey, you can’t have it all. I also met the parents of my new neighbour who were preparing the flat for when he moves in next month and waited for my landlord who decided to let me know he wasn’t coming at 6:30 in the evening. Exciting times!
Thursday I can’t really remember at all, at least not in detail. If only it was because I partied all night long and had heaps of fun, but nothing spectacular happened and I probably just sat at my desk working away. Yay!
On Friday, I brought Amy to kindergarten, cleaned the flat, ran errands and filmed this short grocery haul as I did a quick top up shop before the weekend. I love watching these on YouTube and as I want to get a little more active over there, I thought I’d dive straight in and film my very own version. I still have plenty to learn, but it’s all a bit of fun, isn’t it?
Saturday saw Amy and me cat-sitting my parents’ cats. They’re 15 and 16 years old, absolutely spoiled and complete divas, especially the elder of the two. We fed them, played with them and let them outside for a while before calling them back in. Hexe, the elder one, came as soon as we called for her, but by the time Mix arrived she was already going mental because we wouldn’t open the door for her again. In the end, Amy managed to distract her with Mortadella. I told you, they’re spoiled!
Today, Sunday, has been super relaxed so far. Amy had a lie in, very welcome after two 5.30am wake-up calls this week, and we’re spending the day snuggling on my bed, drawing and watching Disney Toy Collector videos. She’s happy, I’m happy, perfect Sunday! If only the sun would come out to play!
What did you get up to this week?
Lovely pictures – I love the look of the cakes in that book! I hope she made some!
You know that sounds a really lovely week to me..lots of togetherness and simple lovely family fun
Sounds a great mix of work and play to me. Aww Amy is growing up so fast – what a beautiful picture.
The cats sound like a real pair of characters. I feel like the weeks are passing me by, I like the idea of catching them, and gorgeous pics too, what a beautiful daughter you have.
But then I always think you need average weeks to really appreciate the good ones.
Love Amy in the blue dress, so cute. I’ve never seen anyone film their shopping before! lmao Mich x
Amy is shooting up isn’t she?! I can’t get over how she’s growing. My husband always tells me ‘ duh, that’s what kids do, grow’ . I guess I should know by now !!!
Sometimes a week that not a lot is happening is just the tonic for perfect togetherness, I smiled at the goings on of Hexe and Mix, they sound two great characters!
I think your week sounds fab – I could do with a week like that myself 😉
I love that blue dress! So adorable. I think we need quiet weeks though to make us appreciate the not so quiet ones.
Thanks for sharing your week!
sounds like a lovely week, not heard of anyone doing a top up shopping video before
Sounds like a lovely week with lots of family time. We’ve had a quiet one too. x
