Summer is in full swing. We’ve been enjoying glorious day of sunshine spent on the beach, BBQs in my parents’ garden and days out with friends and family. Luckily, we didn’t have too many rain days, but if you are stuck inside and are running out of fun ideas for things to do with your kids when it’s pouring down, you’re in the right place.
It’s time for the 108th edition of our Monday Parenting Pin It Party and that means lots of family-friendly crafts, activities and recipes for you to enjoy. Before we’re kicking off this week’s linky however, here are my two favourites from the past week. How do you like them?
First up, we’ve got this fantastic garden Tic Tac Toe game that Karen from Let Kids Be Kids shared over on her blog. It’s something all the family can get involved with: Collect a couple of big pebbles on the beach, draw fun pictures on them and play the garden version of the classic pen and paper game that children all around the world play.
The second post that really sucked me in, was by Roxanne from The Foster Parenthood, because it’s something that I think about a lot. As a mother, I obviously find my daughter beautiful. To me, she’s the most beautiful little girl in the world, but she’s so much more than that. She’s compassionate and clever, she’s funny and feisty and most of all, she’s her own person defined by her actions and not her looks. She’s fiercely independent, a little daredevil and she can be whatever she wants to be, so please don’t tell her that all she is is beautiful. Roxanne has put this brilliantly in her blog post and I think you should all go and read it!
If you want to join in with this week’s Parenting Pin It Party and share your favourite posts, check out the linky rules and grab the badge below before linking up your must-reads from last week or longer ago.

Please, be sure to visit other entries and show them some love as well. That way it’s more fun for everyone involved and you can find new blogs to read. It would be fab, if you could follow the Parenting Pin It Party Pinterest board too! Have a fab week and enjoy the sunshine wherever you are!
Looking forward to seeing the posts linked up this week, I love the garden tic tac toe idea.
Oh there are some fab ones already. Love seeing everyone’s posts. It’s so inspiring x
Two brilliant posts there, I love the garden Tic Tac Toe, that is such a cute idea.
And so simple. Sometimes it’s exactly those things that are most fun, aren’t they?
I love the Tic Tac Toe game – Sophie would love making some stones for it! Thanks for hosting 🙂
My pleasure 🙂 I’ve been thinking of doing story stones with Amy for ages. They are so much fun and give you endless opportunities to play.
Oh my goodness – THE BEST idea with pebbles! We brought a load of the things back from our recent family holiday to Greece so I now feel inspired! Thanks x
Yay, would be a shame to bring them all the way from Greece and not do anything with them x
I love garden games and mine are brilliant at finding games for the garden to play.
Yes. I’m lucky with Amy too. She’s never bored, I think. She always has something that keeps her occupied, which is great!
Awww, that Tic Tac Toe is just lovely..
I know, so cute and so simple too.
