Have you looked outside recently? It looks like spring is finally coming and I’m so excited to ditch my winter coat and shoes and start shopping for a new spring wardrobe. I’m usually keeping it quite classic, which means that a lot of my clothes are black, grey or dark blue, but spring and summer are the seasons that really want me to inject a bit of colour. There’s one thing that’s an absolute no-no for me though and that’s brightly coloured shoes. Okay, I had one blip when I wore bright orange high heels for my prom, but ever since then my shoes have been strictly neutral in colour which just makes it so much easier to combine them with other outfits too.
If I had to pick my favourite type of shoe, it would definitely be ankle boots. You can pretty much wear them all-year round (apart from summer, obviously) which makes them the perfect transitional shoe between seasons. The major selling point for me is that you can wear them all day long without risking high heel induced elephant feet or mega blisters. They are just super comfy and support my right foot which has developed an anarchic attitude and tends to do what ever it wants since an accident a couple of years ago.
So, yes ankle boots it is for me and these are some of my favourites at the moment. They’re from a number of different websites, so simply click on the shoe you like to be sent to the retailer selling them to find out more about a certain shoe or order them, if you feel like a bit of retail therapy – they’re all ranging from really affordable to mid-range, so everyone should be able to find something for their budget.
