As a single-mum, it’s pretty handy to be quite a hands-on person when it comes to tasks around the house. I’m happy to build furniture, mow the lawn or do other small handy jobs. When it comes to drilling holes in walls, electrics or things that I simply can’t do or can’t be bothered to do, I’m quite happy to get a professional in.
While I’d be quite happy to play around with power tools, I don’t trust others enough to follow the basic rules of electrical wiring to give drilling a go myself. Usually, I bribe my dad with some tea or coffee to do jobs like that for me. If you aren’t lucky enough to know anyone who can help or they don’t live near enough to be pop around spontaneously, don’t put your head in the sand, though. There is help out there and it goes by the name of Bidvine.
What is Bidvine and how does Bidvine work?
Bidvine is basically a huge database of local service providers that allows you to search for the right person for your job in just a couple of minutes. The process is super easy and free. You simply enter your postcode and the service you need on the home screen and then the site asks you some more questions to specify what exactly you’re looking for.
This is the part where you can sit back and relax because you won’t have to do a thing. Local service providers like handymen, personal trainers or photographers will email you a quote for the work you want to be carried out and you can scroll through them and see what they offer. Having done a test run for some professional portrait photos, I can tell you that the process is super easy.
I set my budget, entered how many different photos I needed and requested professional hair and make-up as well as a photographer who travels to me. Amazingly, I got quotes within 25 minutes and that’s something that really surprised me. Having never used Bidvine before, I had expected to wait at least a couple of hours, if not a couple of days for feedback but the offers popped up in my inbox in no time and I could start checking out the different photographers who had emailed me.
Most profiles included portfolios that gave me a good idea of the photographer’s style as well as references and reviews of previous authentic customers – a feature that I found incredibly valuable when deciding on the right person to work with.
All in all, this is a service that I’d definitely recommend to any of my friends (or you guys for that matter). It’s so easy to use, you can easily communicate your wishes and you save hours of time because you don’t have to research photographers in your area, if they travel or how much they charge. You put in your request and the tedious work gets done for you – often at a reduced price too. What’s not to like?
Have you used Bidvine before? If not, is this a service that you’d use when looking for a service locally?
This is a commissioned post but my opinion is my own – as always!
