The first full week of the New Year is over and I thought it was time to share my goals and New Year’s resolutions for 2017 with you. I’ve limited myself to five goals for the coming year as I think it’s important to stay realistic. Of course, a lot of us would like to give our entire life an overhaul, but I have focused on one goal for four different areas of my life.
- Health & Fitness
- Personal Life
- Family Life
My Goals and New Year’s Resolutions for 2017 video
If you want to hear me talk about each goal in a little more depth, check out my Goals And New Year’s Resolutions for 2017 video. I tell you why I’ve chosen each specific goal and also how I try to achieve it.
If you’d rather stay here and fancy a read, here’s my goals and New Year’s Resolutions for 2017 summed up in two to three sentences each:
Goal 1: Be healthier
This involves eating healthier, eating less and being more active. I won’t turn into a gym bunny, that’s just not me, but I want to walk more or swim and cycle more regularly. I also want to drink less Coca Cola. Since my pregnancy with Amy, I am addicted to the stuff. I know it’s not healthy but I can’t stop drinking it. So I want to aim for one or two glasses at the weekend.
Goal 2: Inject more personality in the blog
I’ve been blogging for six years this month and I feel that for the past 2-3 years, I haven’t really shared much about myself. I want to share that in 2017 which why I have decided to regularly participate in three different linkies. I’ll tell you more about my weekly shenanigans in a Little Loves post every Friday. I will share a weekly pic of Amy on Mondays. Plus, there will be one family photo for Me & Mine every single month. That might not sound like anything special but I hate being in pictures. There are literally a handful of pictures of Amy, so to me, this is a big deal.
Goal 3: Say ‘Yes’ more
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to say ‘Yes’ to things I really don’t want to do or agree with. I do, however, want to say ‘Yes’ when it comes to pushing my boundaries. I want to challenge myself, try out new things or things I was too scared to do until now. I’m doing a photography course in a couple of weeks and while I’m looking forward to it, I’m quite nervous about it. That wouldn’t have happened to me before I had Amy. I was at events and seminars all the time. Some, I even taught myself and I want to get that confidence back. I think saying ‘Yes’ more will help.
Goal 4: Get a driving license
I’m 32 now and I’ve never sat behind a steering wheel or had any driving lesson. So 2017, will hopefully be the year that changes. I currently depend on my parents giving us a lift or public transport and while that’s okay, I’d like to be more independent when it comes to getting about.
Goal 5: Take Amy to Disneyland
We’re both obsessed with Disney and I’d love to take Amy to Disneyland before she starts school in September. If I haven’t managed by then, I’ll hopefully be able to plan a trip for half-term. You know as a treat for surviving the first couple of weeks of school, haha. No matter when we’ll go, I’m sure it will be the most magic experience and I want us to enjoy that together.
