It’s time for this week’s Little Loves again. As last week, I was super busy but I hope you forgive me for posting this two days late. Amy has needed a lot of my attention and with work and everything, I just didn’t get around to writing this earlier. I hope you’ve all had a fab week. Here’s what I got up to…
With Amy at home, I’ve done most of my work in the evenings. Reading has kind of taken a step back because of that. I’ve still read about half of ‘At Any Price’ by Brenna Aubrey. It’s about a young woman who decides to sell her virginity via her gaming blog and I think a guy, she’s got an online friendship with buys it to make sure she doesn’t lose it to the wrong guy. That’s just my theory, though, as it hasn’t been confirmed yet. But yeah, so far, it’s a nice and easy read.
I’m still big on Germany’s version of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ and biathlon. I’ve also just watched Donald Trump’s Inauguration which quite frankly was one of the most depressing affairs I’ve ever watched. Even Amy looked at the telly in disbelief and asked me if it was a funeral. Scary how innocent children can grasp the seriousness of a situation within a couple of minutes, don’t you think?
I’ve been stuck in my teenage years this past week and have been listening to Nirvana’s Unplugged album a lot. I bet my dad is so glad that I don’t live with them anymore. My absolute favourites are still ‘Pennyroyal Tea’ and ‘Where did you sleep last night’ – amazing songs. You should check them out if you don’t know them. As Amy is at home with me this week and probably next, so we can hopefully sort out her ear situation, the Trolls Soundtrack has been on repeat too. I don’t mind, though, it’s real feel-good music!
Amy and I made Unicorn Chocolate Bark this week. Unfortunately, we chose crunchy white chocolate as a base and instead of pretty chocolate bark in pastel colours, we got something that looked like a unicorn had vomited all over it. We’ll try again with different chocolate and maybe we’ll share it with you in a recipe post then. Until then, you can check out the latest video I made for you. It’s a Lush Haul that includes lots of sniffing.
Nothing exciting to report here. I pretty much live in jeans and long sleeved tops or jumpers in winter and the only thing that has changed this week is the colour of my roots. They’re dark brown again, woohoo! Over the last two years, I’ve really started noticing grey hair, especially near my roots and around my hairline.
I’m glad to see the end of this week. We’ve had an ENT appointment with Amy on Monday and as it turns out her hearing is pretty crap – quite likely because of the polyps in her ear. For now, she’s on medication every 30 minutes as well as an inhaler, red light treatment for both her ears and a nose spray. And boy, it’s bloody exhausting. She’s really tired all the time, but being so good about it all. We’re back for a check-up on Thursday and I hope her ears and hearing look a bit better then. Otherwise, we’ll have to mentally prepare for surgery. Please, keep your fingers crossed for us!
I love a bit of nirvana from time to time 🙂 #littleloves
Oh poor thiog. I have hearing loss and its v frustrating. Hope you ears get well soon Amy!
Love Nirvana! Have not listened to them in years!
I hope the hearing appointments have gone well xx
Oh wow, now I really want to go and listen to some Nirvana… takes me back! Hope Amy is coping with her medication ok, it sounds nasty xx
They’re fab, aren’t they? Their Ungplugged albums is still one of my all-time favourites. Thanks for asking about Amy. She’s doing okay. New ENT appointment tomorrow, so fingers crossed x
