This week has been insanely busy. I’ve got heaps of translation and copywriting work going on on top of all my other work commitments. And that means I’m a day late with this week’s Little Loves. I wanted to make sure I get it up, though, instead of just dropping the post altogether – something I would have probably done last year. I have made the resolution of sharing more about myself on the blog this year. So I am committed to writing a Little Loves post every single week.
Despite working until 10 PM most nights, I’ve managed to go through one book this week. I’ve made a conscious effort to read a bit before bedtime every night to get some me-time and this week, I read ‘Undeniable Attraction’ by JB Heller. I think it was one of those 99p buys on Amazon a while ago. Nothing special and what I’d class as an alright-read.
Call me sad, but the German series of the ‘I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here’ started last night and I know I’ll be all over it. They’ve compiled a nice little bunch of z-listers and I can’t wait for the first big argument. In fact, I predict it for tonight. Other than that, we’ve been keeping up with the biathlon World Cup – something we watch religiously. If you don’t know what biathlon is, it’s a mix of cross-country skiing and shooting. Really fun and something I’d love to try it myself some time.
I don’t know what it was but something this week reminded me of a singer that I really liked when I was 14. I searched for her music over on Spotify but there were just dodgy karaoke versions of her songs on there. In the end, I remembered that I still had her album (it was probably her only one) and it’s been running all week. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of her but she’s called Princessa, if you want to check her out. I’ll embed a video to one of her songs from back then. It’s cheesy pop music, she’s got the strongest accent ever (something I never noticed back then), but it took me back to being 14 and buying the album with my grandad who died a couple days before I found out I was pregnant with Amy.
If you’ve watched my ‘What I got for Christmas‘ video, you will know that I’m the proud owner of a new donut tray and recipe book. At the weekend, I’ve baked my very first batch and it was a bit of a flop. Basically, because I had forgotten the baking powder. I tried again, though, and these little beauties came out the oven – yum!
Nothing even remotely fashionable but comfy and warm. I’m definitely one of those work from home mums who change into tracksuit bottoms and a cosy sweater right after coming home from the school run. I wear Yeti-like slippers and change again once I pick Amy up from kindergarten. Unfortunately or lucky for you, I don’t tend to take pics of myself when I look like a sloth, so here’s one of Amy instead. She’s been loving the snow and I think she looks adorable in her pink skiing jacket.
I’ve been dreaming of holidays all week long. Actually, I do that most weeks but writing about backpacks and suitcases for a copywriting job really gave me the worst case of wanderlust. I can’t wait for my trip to Iceland in March and all the adventures we’ve planned for 2017.
The photo of your little girl in her ski jacket is gorgeous. We didn’t get any snow – lots of sludge, but none of the lovely white stuff. I’m also dreaming of holidays – I don’t think we’ll get to go this year, but never say never. Enjoy your weekend xx
Oh I could just eat a plate full of those donuts, they look delicious. How cute does Amy look all dressed up for the snow and catching snowflakes on her tongue.
I am that jogger bottom and slipper boot mum too! YAY for comfies. There’s nothing worse than having to wear proper clothes all the time x
Oh my goodness, those doughnuts look incredible! I could eat one right now. Yum.
I’m all for comfy warm clothes when working from home. I’ve no idea what I would wear if I had an office job! xx
