It’s been a random week of errands, work and some shopping but I kind of like sitting down on a Friday to look back at the week to see what we got up too. My absolute highlight was definitely my shopping day with my mum. We dropped Amy off at kindergarten, went for breakfast in one of our favourite cafes and hit the shops. What’s not to like, right? Wanna know what else we got up to? Read on…
I’ve read two books this week, one was meh and the other one left me open-mouthed because it was so very different from what I was used from the author. In fact, I still don’t know what to really make of it. I read Julia Kent’s ‘Shopping For a Billionaire’ series last year and it was what you’d describe as perfect chic lit. She’s funny and witty and it was the perfect series for summer. Now, I’ve read the first book of her ‘Random Acts’ series and I’m still trying to process it. When I started reading it, I assumed it would be a straight-forward romance novel: Girl from a trailer park picks up a naked rock star dressed with only a guitar on the side of the road and there’s an immediate spark between them. They get to know each other over the course of 36 hours, open up about their deepest and darkest secrets and you’ve got this warm fuzzy feeling until the rock star’s buddy turns up and well, you start understanding why the book is really called Random Acts of Crazy. I won’t spoil this for anyone who wants to read it but what the heck?
I was left a little confused because I a) didn’t know the book was heading this way and b) I don’t know which box to put this into in my head. The latter is not necessarily a bad thing, though. I really liked the characters, especially Darla and Trevor (the initial two protagonists), their wit and chemistry and I’m kind of intrigued to find out how the story goes on because it’s unlike anything I’ve read before.
I’ve not watched anything apart from ‘The Bachelor’ and the first race of the biathlon World Championships in Antholz this week. But it was a Gold medal for Germany, woohoo, and I can’t wait to see the rest of the races. We’re massive biathlon fans in this house and I’d love to try it myself one day if there wasn’t the small issue of my non-existence fitness…
I haven’t been binge-listening to anything this week. It was more a matter of diving into different Spotify playlists this past week, so there was a real mix of tunes from my Cheese Fest List to Summer Hits and Happy Tunes. You can see, I take naming my lists extremely serious.
Sod all as always. I don’t know what it is at the moment, but there never seems to be enough time in the day to get creative with crafts or in the kitchen. This afternoon, we want to bake some red velvet doughnuts, though. So I might be able to share them with you next week if they turn out alright!
I picked up some new Chelsea boots on Tuesday. They’re my absolute favourite type of shoe and I basically live in them which is why I’ve raved about them in a number of different blog posts. Like this one where I combined two of my favourite topics: Chelsea boots and Harry Styles! I’ve got lots of them already, but when I saw a pair that was reduced to just 18€, I just had to add them to my ever-growing collection. They’re super comfy!
Amy had her school entrance exam on Monday and I blogged about it earlier in the week. Make sure to check out the post, if you want to find out how things work here in Germany and what happens during the exam. Other than that not much happened this week. It was a random mix of work and errands. I am excited about a girly weekend in Berlin with my sister, though. We’re off to watch Sister Act – The Musical, do a bit of sightseeing and, no doubt, some shopping.
Those Chelsea boots were a bargain I can see why you had to add them to your collection.
I know, the price was just too good to be true. I didn’t even consider not getting them 😀 x
Those boots look great. I am now so intrigued by Random Acts of Crazy that I think I might have to read it!
If you do, let me know what you think. It was so random that I’d love someone else’s take on it x
Love the colour of those boots. That book sounds intriguing, and not something I would usually read. Red Velvet Doughnuts?! Sounds delicious! Enjoy your week xx
That’s what instantly attracted me to them. It’s one of my favourite colours. I think I’ve got three pairs in that colour x
Those boots are so cute- im after some ankle boots to wear with my jeans! #littleloves
They’re literally my favourite type of shoe ever. I live in ankle boots because they’re so comfy and they go with almost everything x
Ooh thwey are lovely – show us your doughnuts
I didn’t make them in the end as Amy was at the ENT clinic for emergency appointments twice last weekend. It was all super stressful x
Gorgeous boots. I am desperate need of some new ones so badly. But I am in denial spring is here right I just want sandals and flip flops already. Oh I will have to add this book to my list. Hope you had a great weekend just past. #littleloves
We’re still below O degrees here in Germany, so I think it will take some time for spring to arrive. I’m desperate for the trees to turn green and flowers to bloom, though. It’s been grey for too long now. Our weekend was fab and well needed x
Oh my goodness, I love those chelsea boots, and what a bargain too! xx
