“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
I’ve shared this picture on my Instagram yesterday, but I just had to make this my Living Arrows photo for this week because it sums up Amy so well. She is such a funny little character and I loved it when she brought out Little Miss Attitude while she was walking around with her 3D glasses – hours before we actually made her way to the cinema.
When I say Little Miss Attitude, though, I don’t mean that Amy is rude or naughty. She isn’t at all actually. God knows how I got that lucky. No, I mean that she’s feisty and funny. She does all these quirky little things and really cracks me up. She’s hilarious, but she also won’t take any rubbish from anyone.
She defends her opinions and loves discussing the most random topics and my dad is already laughing about this character trait of hers. He’s quite literally suffered from my passion for a good discussion for a minimum of 30 years and I think he secretly hopes that Amy gives me a taste of my own medicine.
My dad and I often have quite contrary views on things and as none of us is prepared to compromise, discussions can turn into heated arguments – at least they used to. I’m not as bad now that I’m older but during my teens, I was so stubborn that I wouldn’t talk to him for days and the radio silence between us didn’t phase me in the slightest. In my head, I was right and that was all that mattered to me.
Wish me luck that my own Little Miss Attitude won’t be as argumentative as I was or that she makes points that convince me to change my mind – I’m quite happy to do that, you know!?
