Remember last year, when I showed you how to carve a pirate pumpkin and make yummy treats out of the leftovers? Well, this year I want to challenge myself by pushing the boat out a little. Amy is much more aware of what is happening around her this year, so I think she will absolutely love all the warm lights of Halloween and I really want to nourish this love while it’s there. What that means for my un-crafty craft-loving self? Deep breath: I will have a shot at recreating some of my 15 favourite Halloween pumpkins, which you can see underneath. To prove that I have really tried it, I’ll share my attempts with you and let you know how well a not so crafty mummy will get on with them. Maybe you even want to join me on my creative Halloween journey. Let me know in the comments and we can found a “Pumpkin Craft Self-Aid Group” – there will be imaginary cake at every meeting!
Which of the pumpkins below is your favourite and which one would you like to see me try out? Last year, I nearly chopped my finger of, so be kind!
wow Carlin you have set yourself a target and a half here!! i like a few!! the button boo one, the cheshire cat, the glittery one, the fairylight one and candle wax one which is prob the easiest x x good luck
They're amazing, aren't they? I hope that if I start with some easy ones, I might get the hang of it and become a crafty person – eeek 🙂 I'll keep you all up-to-date and if you don't hear anything from my, well, then I've had an accident with the carving knife… x
If you don't want to cut yourself get a pampered chef safety knife. Its for kids, but its perfect for cutting pumpkins without a trip to A&E http://www.pamperedchef.com/ordering/prod_details…
What a great idea, I might have to get one seeing how clumsy I can be 🙂
The candle wax pumpkins are adorable! How did you get the circle pattern at the top?
Hi Wendy, these are just ideas I found online and that I want to try out over the coming weeks, but I guess to get the circle pattern, you just move a candle or crayon in a circle – not for the impatient 😉
I got a few 80's crafts books with ideas for pumpkin art.Brass tack one shows up a lot but there's another idea not featured here, I think I'm going to try that.
Oh my Gourd! The glitter one is gorgeous!
It\’s so beautiful, isn\’t it? I can\’t decide which ones I want to make…
They are all amazing – but the mummy is definitely my favourite – besides it looks less cutting for you.
