I’m Cass and you can usually find me over at The Diary of a Frugal Family but today the lovely Carolin has invited me over to be a part of her brilliant Blogger Advent Calendar so here I am to tell you about one of our favourite Christmas traditions.
We’ve got lots of Christmas traditions in our family but one of our favourites is drinking Snowman Soup on Christmas Eve in our new Christmas pyjamas while we watch a Christmas film before bedtime. It’s at that moment that I start to get that feeling – the one you only get at Christmas that I can’t really describe but I’m sure you know what you mean!
If you’ve never tried Snowman Soup then you’re definitely missing out!
To make it for yourself, just make up a mug of hot chocolate but only fill it 3/4 full and then carefully, let the kids add a small handful of mini marshmallows and a small handful of chocolate buttons (or something similar). You can then let them stir the mix together with a candy cane off the tree.
It also makes a great gift if you’re looking for a last minute present for someone – even I can make it so it looks *almost* like a shop bought gift although you need to use a couple of cellophane cones to make it look really good. I layer in in enough ingredients into the cellophane bag to make two drinks and I include a card with it that has instructions on it to make it as not everyone will get what you need to do unless you help them out a little. There’s even a Snowman Soup board on Pinterest that has some Snowman Soup labels on it to help you!
