I don’t have to tell you that accessories can instantly make a room more homely and cosy, but I thought I’d share the lovely Pied à Terre mini diffusers and candles that the lovely guys from House of Fraser sent us a while ago. Quite a while ago, to be completely honest.
With packing up an entire house in boxes, moving its content from one country to another and flat hunting (it still seems to be mission impossible), I have to admit sitting down and lighting up votive candles was the last thing on my to do list, but a couple of weeks ago, I braved it into my dad’s cellar and dug out the diffusers and candles from Pied à terre.
Both sets compliment each other beautifully and come in the scents Iris & Vetiver, Plum & Black Amber and Fig Leaf & Cassis, which I think makes them a nice alternative to more ordinary scents like vanilla, lavender or linen. The sets come beautifully packaged in elegant black boxes and would be a great gift for a friend or family member who loves the nice things in life or has recently moved into a new home.
Both, the Pied à Terre Mini Votive Trio and the Pied à Terre feature silver and black detailing that gives them a luxurious feel and a contemporary yet elegant look. At £25 and £20, they are reasonably priced for a higher end product, so if you are after home scents that are pretty to look at and have scents that are subtle but present, these are sets to look out for.
What are your favourite home scents?
I love those votives! My favourite scents are the Christmas ones – spiced apple & cinnamon!
See, I don’t like cinnamon but I do love the scent of it in a candle – only at Christmas though. For the rest of the year, I prefer something more subtle x
ooooh, they look lovely.
They really are. I love that they’re silver too. Make them a little more contemporary x
These look lovely and scent is one of the most important things to make a new home feel like, well, home!
I completely agree. Estate agents don’t advise you to bake bread or an apple pie for no reason, if you’re looking to sell your house, do they?
Ooh – smelly candles are RIGHT up there on my Guaranteed to Make the House Gorgeous list! Along with cushions – my lucky husband! Might have to check these out. Thanks for the tip xx
And picture frames!
I have just been given some reed diffusers for my birthday and never used them before. Might be time to get them out of the box.
I love them. My mum bought be my very first set years ago when they went to Italy and it smelt amazing. I loved it so much, that they had to get me the same scent the year after…
They look lovely Carolin, I’ve been trying on convince Papasaurus into splashing some cash on some home scents and I swear all I can smell in my house is cheesy feet these days!!!
With two men in the house, it doesn’t surprise me 😉 Maybe you can get a manly scent – bacon or something like that…
Oh nice, thanks Carolin. I’ve only recently discovered reed diffusers and now love them! Mich x
I use both candles and votives and I also change the scents throughout the year to match my mood, such an easy way to make a small change
oh aren’t they lovely. my fave scent is fresh linen makes me feel like i hav spring cleaned
