Recently, I’ve been really unhappy with my blog. I still love the design (thank you, Stacey Corrin!), but let’s face it, my content really sucks at the moment. There’s hardly anything personal anymore and I really want to change that, so when my lovely friend Tanya announced that she’d host a weekly linky called “My Week”, I knew that this was just what I needed to start writing more personal post again.
The idea behind T’s new linky is simple: share what your week was like, what you did each day – no matter how big or small. You can draw doodles, share pics or write a couple of lines about each day. The most important thing is that you record your every day life and that’s what I’ve tried this past week:
Monday: This was our first night in our new flat – now that it’s finally fully furnished and decorated. You can check out my living room tour too. My sister stayed over too and we had a lovely evening, although Amy was way too excited to go to bed at her usual bedtime.
Tuesday: Amy decided that 4:50 was an appropriate time to get up, but luckily, we were able to convince her to fall back asleep. After a quick breakfast, we headed to my grandparents’ for lunch and a lovely afternoon in their garden. Amy loved watering all their flowers and snacking on fresh strawberries.
Wednesday: My friend Maik came over in the morning to discuss some business ideas that we can help each other with and the afternoon and early evening was all about splashing about in the paddling pool that my parents had bought Amy earlier in the month. We all got soaking wet, but had so much fun together!
Thursday: Today, we left relatively early to spend a day on the beach. Amy had a day off kindergarten and loved the idea of having an entire day of swimming in the Baltic Sea, collecting sea shells and pebbles and building sand castles. Only downside, I came home looking like a lobster. I’m just not made for summer.
Friday: Amy was back at kindergarten this morning while I got some work done. In the afternoon, we popped to my parents’ house for some more paddling pool fun and to nick some strawberries from their garden. They’re deliciously sweet and I had them as part of my dinner as well as my pudding – I know, totally obsessive!
Saturday: What can I say? It was another beach day for us, but who can blame us really? It was the hottest week of the year so far with temperatures of 36 degrees right by the sea. I can’t even remember the last time it was at hot as this. In the evening, we had a BBQ at my parents’ house, which felt a little like the last supper as from Sunday on my sister, mum and I will be trying out a new diet that works on a meal replacement basis for a couple of days. I’m dreading it already!
Sunday: Today has been pretty uneventful so far. I’ve started my diet and the shake didn’t taste as horrid as I remember. I tried a sample a couple of weeks back and I was actually gagging because it was so revolting, so I was pretty worried about being able to actually drink it, but it seems I can actually apply for a Bush Tucker trial. Because it’s so hot, the thunderstorm last night didn’t do anything to help it cool down, we spend the morning inside. We sang songs and made some glow in the dark ponies and unicorns with a playdough set that my sister got Amy for her birthday and now we’re off to my parents’ for some more fun in the paddling pool and garden.
I hope you all had a fab week. What did you get up to?
Your new apartment looks amazing!!! Congrats on the new home.
And excited to hear how you get on with your new diet. I can’t wait to hear how you get on with it.
Thanks for linking up, lovely to see what you have been up to.
Thanks T, it took a while to find the perfect place for us, but I’m really happy with it now. The diet is well, not tasty, but if it helps, I’ll put up with it for a while…
That beach looks stunning! Sounds like you have had a lovely week and I am so pleased you are all settled in. Goof luck with the diet!
It’s my favourite beach ever. We’ve been going there for at least 20 years. In fact, they still have the same old guy walking up and down the beach selling ice-cream and shouting “Anyone still without ice-cream?” in the most hideous voice 😀 He cracks us up every time x
Oh I’m well jealous of your posh apartment.I must try harder to get something done with our house this year.I’m glad to see you and Amy settling into your new life.
I hope the new diet is going well and the apartment looks lovely, hope you’re settling in well
Hope the diet went well 😉
You new home is looking lovely, I love your style x x
