I’ve only read one book this week and the title was so weird that I can’t even remember it. It was something about the Russian Mafia with a love story and a bit of mystery thrown in. Not something to write home about but okay for half an hour each night. I didn’t have the mental capacity for anything too deep this week as I was just utterly exhausted from working until 1 AM most days and having Amy home all week.
The biggest and happiest of this week’s Little Loves has been watching Amy play happily in the forest this afternoon. She really wasn’t up to much with having to take medication every 30 minutes but today, we braved the cold and headed into the forest for a long walk and some play time. She was so happy building little houses for the fairies, running up and down the hills and climbing her favourite tree. It was freezing cold but seeing her enjoy herself so much really made me suck it up.
We had another hearing test yesterday and I am so so relieved that there has been a massive improvement compared to two weeks ago. If you’ve followed my blog recently, you will know that Amy was on all sorts of medication because of things wrong with her ears and hearing and luckily, things seem to be on the right track now. She’s still got to take ear drops and use a nebuliser as well as red light but I’m so relieved that surgery seems to be off the table for now.
I’ve not done much apart from administering medicine, work, housework and some grocery shopping. The only thing that might count as actually making something might be this week’s YouTube video. It’s a huge HEMA haul which basically features 10 million notebooks. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration but there are a lot of them. They just make me happy – you’ll see how happy when you watch the video…
A look of utter exhaustion? Massive bags under my eyes? I haven’t really worn anything worth mentioning to be fair. In fact, it was a real achievement if I wore anything other than tracksuit bottoms and slouchy jumpers. But hey, that’s what you wear when your stuck inside, right?
I’ll sound like a crap mum now, but boy, am I looking forward to Amy going back to kindergarten next week. Having her home for two weeks was lovely, especially as we could have really relaxed mornings and lots of snuggles. But my routine has gone completely out of the window. I ended up working late at night, going to bed too late and waking up feeling more tired than at bedtime. My post on sleep hacks and getting a good night’s sleep couldn’t have come at a better time, haha.
I have also celebrated my 6th blogging birthday this week and written about 6 things I’ve learnt in 6 years of blogging. I’d love it if you would check it out and let me know your thoughts.
