“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
We’re a day late with this week’s Living Arrows post, but we’ve got a good reason. It was Amy’s 6th birthday yesterday and believe me when I say that sitting on my laptop was the last thing on my mind. Amy got up super early as she was so excited and had a fab day, while I walked around wondering how on earth I’ve got a 6-year-old?
I mean, I obviously know how that happened but it amazes me how fast these last six years have gone. I still remember the moment when the midwife Amy put in my arms as if it was yesterday. This overwhelming ‘Oh my God, she’s mine’ moment that I still get every single day.
Thoughts on Amy’s 6th birthday
I’m not normally a terribly emotional person. I don’t talk about my feelings unless someone makes me furious, haha, but with Amy, it’s completely different. She makes me so proud to be her Mummy every single day and it’s something I would happily shout from the rooftops. I mean, I guess most people will absolutely adore the living daylight out of their kids but I just can’t get over how amazing Amy is.
She’s such a wonderful little human being. She’s feisty and strong willed but at the same time, she’s incredibly caring and loving. She’s always considerate of others and their feelings and would never exclude anyone from anything she does. She’s adventurous and inquisitive and she loves learning about the world around her and the people that live in it. I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for her. It’s a big one for sure with her starting school in September. She’s super excited about it already. Why? Because she’ll learn how to read, so she can read me a bedtime story too. Told you she’s amazing!
Happy birthday Amy!
Thanks, lovely! I cannot believe that she’s 6 years old now. It’s insane x
Ah happy birthday Amy! My eldest will be 6 in September so not far behind. Amazes me how grown-up they seem at 6! Lovely photo collage, love the one of her peeking out from the sunglasses!

Hehe thank you, it’s one of my all-time favourites. It’s crazy how grown-up they are, isn’t it? Amy has always been Little Miss Independent but I love that she’s still got her childish innocence 🙂 x

ah happy birthday, my daughter is 6 and I remember it feeling such a big one! #Livingarrows
Oh those baby pictures are just gorgeous! I love seeing children grow up instantly like that - she looks like she has grown into such a lovely little girl. Six seems to grown up! Happy Birthday Amy! x
Thank you, Donna. It seems even more grown up when you think that 6 years as 1/3 of her way to adulthood gone. I push that thought to very back of my head, though, haha x
Happy Birthday to Amy! She looks like a lovely little girl x
Thanks Katy 🙂 She really is amazing. I’m incredibly lucky x
Hope she had a lovely Birthday. That’s a brilliant reason why to learn to read. Monkey started school in the Sept last year - although he’s only four and went from not being able to read anything to now being on books I’ve. Even reading him for years. They are like sponges soaking it all up! #LivingArrows
Kids are amazing, aren’t they? They cope with just about everything you throw and them and manage to own it within just a couple of weeks x
