I do love a good tag so when I came across Vogue’s 73 Questions over on Aby’s blog, You Baby Me Mummy, I just knew I had to answer them. Usually, Vogue’s 73 questions go to celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker (see video below) but I thought I can play celeb in my own little corner of the internet and answer them myself. It’s just a fun way to tell you a little more about me and maybe you can even find out something you didn’t already know…
Vogue’s 73 questions and my answers:
1. What’s your favourite movie?
Probably Dirty Dancing. It’s one of those movies that you can watch again and again without it ever getting boring.
2. Favourite movie in the past five years?
I’m a mum, I can’t even remember the last time I’ve seen anything other than kids movies at the cinema. I did watch Pitch Perfect on Netflix though and I absolutely loved it.
3. Favourite Hitchcock film?
I haven’t watched a complete Hitchcock film, just parts of Birds, so I’d go for that one.
4. A book you plan on reading?
I’ve got dozens of books on my Kindle and decide on my next read depending on how my previous book makes me feel, but I can’t wait for Emma Scott’s ‘Full Tilt 2’ to come out later this month. She’s one of my all-time favourite writers and has the most beautiful way with words. I’ve written a review of her book ‘How to Save a Life’ earlier this year. Definitely check it out, if you want to find out more about Emma Scott’s writing.
5. A book that you read in school that positively shaped you?
Goethe’s ‘Faust’ - it’s still one of my all-time favourites.
6. Favourite TV show that’s currently on?
Don’t judge me but I’m obsessed with a German TV show called ‘Adam sucht Eva’ (Adam seeks Eve) which is basically a bunch of butt naked people thrown on an island to find love. It’s hugely entertaining and did I mentioned that nothing gets ever pixeled in German telly?
7. On a scale of one to ten, how excited are you about life right now?
It’s not very exciting at the moment. We’ve got our daily routine of work and kindergarten going, some days out and that’s pretty much is. I guess I’d give it a 6, but then again it’s quite nice for life not to be too exciting once in a while, don’t you think?
8. iPhone or Android?
I’m definitely Team Android. I’ve never even used an iPhone. Yep, I’m that person.
9. Twitter or Instagram?
I love Twitter, but Instagram is my happy place. It’s like this peaceful little bubble full of positivity and pretty pictures. I love it!
10. Who should EVERYONE be following right now?
Me obviously 😉 You can find me as @caro_mad and as @letspackourbagsblog.
11. What’s your favourite food?
Anything with mushrooms. They’re my favourite thing ever - the perfect meal for me would be some sort of pasta dish with mushrooms, chicken and maybe green asparagus. Yum!
12. Least favourite food?
Both milk and banana are equally disgusting. I can’t cope with them at all. Milk hidden in cakes and desserts and cakes is fine, but there’s no chance anyone can hide banana without me noticing. The smell is just revolting.
13. What do you love on your pizza?
Chicken, mushrooms, sweetcorn, red onions and black olives. My local takeaway in Bristol had a veggie pizza with all the vegetables I just listed, so I always ordered a veggie pizza with chicken - yeah, I know!
14. Favourite drink?
Alcoholic or non-alcoholic? My favourite non-alcoholic drinks are Coke, cherry juice or hot chocolate and my favourite alcoholic drink is Caipirinha.
15. Favourite dessert?
Anything with chocolate and cherries, maybe my Black Forest Trifle. Best combo ever!
16. Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?
Dark chocolate and if you want to make it extra yummy, add some nuts to it.
17. Coffee or tea?
Tea! I’m not a coffee person at all and can only bear about 4 or 5 coffee-based drinks a year. Total coffee wimp, much to the dismay of my Nan who thinks drinking coffee equals being a proper grown-up.
18. What’s the hardest part about being a mum?
Not getting a lie-in? I’m an absolute night owl, so I’m always tired in the morning but yeah, getting up early and being the one responsible for everything - especially when like me you’re a single mum.
19. What’s your favourite band?
I love all sorts of music. Check out my Spotify profile and you’ll see everything from Nirvana to musicals on there. Music very much depends on my mood, so I’ve got something for every situation on there.
20. Favourite solo artist?
Male: Ed Sheeran, Female: Pink
21. Favourite song?
Jon Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer is my absolute feel-good anthem. It’s just one of those songs that always cheers me up and gets me going.
22. If you could sing a duet with anyone, who would it be?
I’d love to sing ‘I see the light’ or ‘Only Hope’ with Mandy Moore. Love those songs and I think we have a similar tone, so it might work quite well. Yep, I’ve definitely put way too much thought into this question.
23. If you could master one instrument, what would it be?
I’d love to be able to play the guitar. It’s such a beautiful instrument and you can whip it out at the camp fire, at family parties or wherever.
24. If you had a tattoo, where would it be?
Probably at the back of my neck, so I could hide it if needed. When I was a teen, I always wanted a bar code there but now I’d probably go for a star, Amy’s name or one of her drawings. A friend of mine has a little stickman drawing her daughter made for her and I love it. It’s such a unique idea.
25. To be or not to be?
Definitely to be.
26. Dogs or cats?
Cats
27. Bird-watching or whale-watching?
Whale-watching, birds are literally the most boring thing ever.
28. Best gift you’ve ever received?
I know this probably refers to birthday or Christmas gifts, but I’ll say Amy. She’s the gift that keeps giving!
29. Best gift you’ve ever given?
I’ve got no idea, but I think surprising my Nan with Amy when she had her hip replacement surgery is definitely up there. We were still living in the UK back then and she hadn’t met Amy yet, so we secretly booked tickets to Germany, flew over and surprised her in front of her room when she came back from her physiotherapy session at the rehab centre.
30. Last gift you gave a friend?
I chipped in with my parents for a safety training for my sister’s boyfriend’s birthday.
31. What’s your favourite board game?
Taboo, but I pretty much love every board came that needs you to play with words or is about general knowledge.
32. What’s your favourite country to visit?
England because after almost 7 years of living there, it always feels like coming home.
33. What’s the last country you visited?
Italy, which is another one of my favourites.
34. What country do you wish to visit?
Russia, I’d love to visit St. Petersburg. It looks absolutely beautiful and my mum always talks about her trip there when she was younger.
35. What’s your favourite colour?
Navy blue
36. Least favourite colour?
Green
37. Diamonds or pearls?
Diamonds.
38. Heels or flats?
Flats, I’m useless when it comes to walking in heels. I’m always scared I’ll break my neck or do my foot in again.
39. Pilates or yoga?
I’ve never tried pilates, so I’ll go for yoga. It’s great fun!
40. Jogging or swimming?
Swimming, I don’t run ever - not even to catch a bus. I’d rather wait for the next one…
41. Best way to de-stress?
Swimming, a walk on the beach or a long bath. Anything with water really.
42. If you had one superpower, what would it be?
Time-travel
43. What’s the weirdest word in the English language?
Earthquake and pedestrian precinct were definite favourites when I was learning English at school.

Tulips, I love them.
45. When was the last time you cried?
Today when I watched a video that showed the way Donald Trump disrespected veterans and prisoners of war in the USA.
46. Do you like your handwriting?
I haven’t really thought about it , but I guess there are people who have better and worse handwriting than me, so I think it sits somewhere in the middle.
47. Do you bake?
Yes, I love baking, although I could use a little more practise.
48. What is your least favourite thing about yourself?
My weight
49. What is your most favourite thing about yourself?
I have a very positive outlook on life and never dwell on bad things because you can’t change them anyway.
50. Who do you miss most?
My grandad who died a couple of days before I found out I was pregnant with Amy. He was a wonderful man and I would have loved for Amy to meet him.
51. What are you listening to right now?
My Happy Tunes playlist on Spotify

Ok, that german tv show.. I HAVE to hunt it down!
It’s hilarious and so cringe-worthy at times. I don’t know how they cope with nudity 24/7…

What a great bunch of questions! Great answers too. I’m with you on the mushrooms and Instagram, but I’m an Apple girl through and through when it comes to phones 🙂 x
I think it depends on what you start your smartphone journey with, maybe. I’ve always used Android and never had any issues with it, so I was never tempted to try an iPhone. x
I’m a bit Instagram mad too, especially since they introduced stories.
Gosh yes, I could easily spend my entire day watching what other people get up to x
